The Winchester Institute of Chiropractic Health and Wellness, located in Dublin, Ohio, combines state-of-the-art technology with the timeless principles and proven results of Gonstead Chiropractic. Specializing in the Gonstead Technique, we offer our patients the foremost standard in “hands-on” spinal adjusting.
Alongside Chiropractic care, we also offer an array of supportive, healthy services: Rehabilitation, Cold Laser Therapy, Massage Therapy, and Nutrition Counseling.
How did the idea for your business come about?
It wasn’t until I had graduated with my Doctorate and started practicing that I knew I wanted to open The Winchester Institute of Chiropractic Health and Wellness. I realized the demand for a trusted, 5-star healthcare facility founded on the idea of true, whole body prevention and wellbeing was ever present. People are hungry for total wellness and that’s what we strive to offer.
What was the turning point for your business? Was there a moment you knew you had something special?
As a healthcare provider and entrepreneur, the plans and stages of growth happened naturally. I kept true to my company mission, to offer the highest standard in Chiropractic and preventive healthcare. As The Institute grew, we were naturally forced to bring on more help, more talent, and expand our square footage. We’ve added services over the years, but continue to hold true to our key wellness principles. Because, that’s how you get people well!
What does it mean to you to be an entrepreneur and business owner?
It isn’t always easy, but very rewarding. The best parts of owning a business are the triumphs of getting through tough times and helping to lead an amazing team to success.
What does the city of Columbus mean to your business?
Columbus is a growing city full of active people. To me, I see the potential for opportunity that those who need our help can find us. We love this community and it is exciting to see Columbus grow around us!
What’s the number one piece of advice you’d give to anyone wanting to start a business?
My best advice to anyone wanting to start a business is this: You need to be fully invested and obsessively driven toward your goal and once you meet that goal, set a new one. Oh, and never stop at “no”. There HAS to be another way!
What is your best Columbus resource (Please provide the business name of said resource)?
I would say that my best Columbus resource is BHM CPA group. They have been so supportive and helpful, especially during the Covid pandemic. They provided the knowledge and expertise necessary on how to manage the financial implications of my business during such a difficult time.
Why do you think most businesses fail and what has made you different?
I believe most businesses may fail due to a lack of owner grit and trying to grow and operate without a clearly communicated mission and vision.
What do you wish you knew about entrepreneurship before starting your business?
Prior to founding The Winchester Institute, and still today, I believe it is vitally important to surround yourself with a solid support system. Having professionals and creating friendships with like minded individuals that understand the difficulties of entrepreneurship is extremely important to our own personal health and wellbeing, as well as the health of our companies.
What form of marketing is the most valuable for you?
All social media platforms, word of mouth and having great reviews from our patients.
Where do you see your business in the next 10 years?
For most of us, our future is a choice. Just like our status of health and well-being, we have a lot of choices in this life. I will continue to live a life of purposeful, mindful devotion to be my best, focusing on what is most important to me, and encouraging others around me. Being a business owner presents many challenges which can deter from a healthy, balanced lifestyle. I will aim to surround myself with like-minded professionals, putting the right people beside me to help me grow The Winchester Institute without sacrificing a full life outside of my professional one. The future is an opportunity to do today even better than tomorrow!
